Overview
Job title: Senior Designer & Information Architect
Salary range: tbc
Terms: 6-9 month Contract
Overall responsibility:
Redhouse Lane is an integrated design and communication agency. We are looking for freelance senior new media designers with the ability to interpret briefs creatively and swiftly, work within a team and respond to the new media art director. You should be comfortable with IA, accessibility standards, CMS and templated websites and Flash.
Particular responsibilities
We need someone who:
·can interpret a brief - make conclusions - identify and answer specific requirements
·can think and prompt for further information as necessary from within the team, company and from the client too when necessary
·can look to build upon and exceed the brief through quality of execution
·can work quickly and effectively - i.e. focused productive thinking time
·is familiar with online development processes and phased work approaches
·is able to articulate rationale verbally and in writing. This applies equally to IA and design.
·has high standards as well as good pure creativity
·has good user interface design skills (incorporates understanding of constraints and the nature of the delivery of online projects)
·is user-centric in their problem solving whilst managing the clients expectations
·is familiar with CMS and templated websites
·understands and champions usability and accessibility in their approach
·has CD-ROM experience
The individual will need to be able to take art direction and instruction from our lead web designer, as well as work well with others or alone when required, therefore a proactive approach is required.
IA ability should cover:
·Requirements capturing
·Some auditing
·Persona development
·User research
·Run workshops
·Site mapping
·Wireframe development
·Prototyping
·User journeys
·Template development
·UAT
