A Software Engineer with more than 2 years of experience with Microsoft .NET is sought to take on the development of business critical web applications for a market leading property investment firm, on a long-term contract.
The applications are n-tier, modularised and multi-lingual. Responsibilities include development, reviewing work for quality adherence and liaising with the project stakeholders in a requirements elicitation, analysis and support capacity (support is a minor part of the role). The development life-cycle generally follows the Agile model, where emphasis is placed on user acceptance testing as a mechanism for requirements conformance. You will hold a high degree of responsibility for the applications, their reliability, ease of use, and software quality.
The applicant must be competent with the following technologies: C#, ASP.NET 2.0, SQL Server 2005, IIS 6.0, XHTML, XML/XSLT, JavaScript, CSS, Visual SourceSafe. Knowledge of Community Server and SSL is a bonus!
The role encompasses 40hrs per week (negotiable) on flexible working hours; it is based in central Bristol and it is expected to continue for the long-term. There are significant opportunities for learning about and practicing property investment, and you will be invited to regular client events, both training events and social events. Your ongoing technology education will also be supported and actively encouraged. This exciting and highly flexible role would suit a self-starter with a deep passion for Internet technologies, able to easily manage their own time, who loves working to the best of their abilities, and who can bring in-depth experience of .NET. Rate is between £15 and £20 per hour and depending on experience. All applicants must be resident in the United Kingdom and have excellent communication skills.
