Web database and graphic design
posted on 5/4/2001We are looking for an offsite Web Developer to work on an upcoming project. We would like the following:
- An estimate for the tasks below
- Examples of your work
- Your availability
Tasks
1. The client will have Miva Merchant installed on a Linux server. You can go to www.miva.com to see how it works. I think we can use this to implement all or most of the e-commerce features they want. They want users to be able to come to the site and register for events and conferences. We can maybe set up the events like products in a shopping cart and users can add events to their cart and pay for them all at check out.
2. They also have a member database of about 850 members. They want to
set up a database so users can perform searches of the member database,
using criteria like name, city, state, business category, etc. The
listings will come up with the members' contact information including
clickable e-mail addresses and web site addresses. They also need
administration pages so that their staff can modify the member records,
including defining which records should be viewed in BOLD font (for
greater visibility). We will most probaby implement a MySQL database.
3. They will want to redesign (graphically) their existing web site, which will probably be any where from 30 to 80 pages.
4. The site will contain an automatically updated window for free local
news and other content.
5. The users will have to be able to fill out an online application for
membership and pay using credit card.
