Visual Design Concept

posted on 19/10/2001

I need someone to help me with the visual design of a web application that
I'm building for a client.

It's aimed at UK school teachers and their pupils.

The client wants a very, very clean, simple design concept but one that is
very easy to understand rather than a "cool" design. This needs to be
reconciled with quite complex functionality. Download times very
important. Cross-browser compatibility vital. No Flash, minimal graphics.
Download times important. A good understanding of JavaScript cross-browser
compatibilty issues is essential.

I need someone who is going to be available to talk through issues in
detail and who will be able to engage in written discussion of the pros &
cons
of different approaches to branding, navigation, usability of frames,
popups etc. as well as providing screen mockups and possibly attending a
meeting or two in Isleworth and/or Milton Keynes. This means you *must* be
UK-based.

The work will need to be completed by 6 November, but I need mockups by
the end of October. I want to choose someone by 24 October.

Please email ASAP with details of previous relevant work, URLs,
references, plus some idea of what you charge for projects like this
(fixed price please). Please show evidence of work on database-driven
interactive web applications as opposed to "brochureware" sites - I don't
want you to *do* the database programming, but you do need to understand
the visual metaphors required.

Thanks

Nick
