Ideally you will have been involved in running a community with a `large corporate' Membership base, and may already be responsible for managing a community or working for a media agency. Alternatively, you have worked in a business editorial role, both generating content and managing contributions from third parties: The role involves: · Managing freelance contributors of content for our Communities · Regular communication with the member, including meeting corporate members to discuss potential business initiatives for the Community · Drafting agendas for offline and online events · Generating structured outputs (findings from member discussions online & offline) · Collecting, writing & editing copy for Community newswires · Developing the content available on our secure Community portal · Encouraging member participation in the community You will be working as part of a small team with a community leader, who has overall responsibility for the direction of the community. You'll need to be self-motivated, as a lot of your work will need to be undertaken either independently, or in conjunction with the community members. An ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines is also key in this role. You must have good interpersonal and communication skills, with the self- confidence to engage community members at senior management level. Based on the continually changing nature of communities and the possibility of involvement in new customer communities, you must be flexible and adaptable. You will also be responsible for updating content on the community website and the newswires. DreamWeaver skills are therefore important. Finally, the role involves plenty of organizing and coordinating skills. An ideal candidate will have: · Preferably 2 years of community management or business editorial experience · An ability to deal with senior decision makers in large organisations · Well developed web skills (DreamWeaver) with the ability to upload and change content on community sites · An interest in, and knowledge of, the Internet, digital business (ebusiness) and new media technology in general · The ability to analyse community activities (i.e. tracking online usage, determine if a corporate hasn't attended events, updating and keeping database accurate) · A degree --------------------------------------------------------------- This may become a full-time role for the right person.
