Job Description and Responsibilities
We are looking for a bright young person to join our community
management team and help with managing and developing our communities.
Ideally you will have been involved in running a community with
a `large corporate' Membership base, and may already be responsible
for managing a community or working for a media agency.
Alternatively, you have worked in a business editorial role, both
generating content and managing contributions from third parties:
The role involves:
· Managing freelance contributors of content for our Communities
· Regular communication with the member, including meeting corporate
members to discuss potential business initiatives for the Community
· Drafting agendas for offline and online events
· Generating structured outputs (findings from member discussions
online & offline)
· Collecting, writing & editing copy for Community newswires
· Developing the content available on our secure Community portal
· Encouraging member participation in the community

You will be working as part of a small team with a community leader,
who has overall responsibility for the direction of the community.
You'll need to be self-motivated, as a lot of your work will need to
be undertaken either independently, or in conjunction with the
community members. An ability to work under pressure and to tight
deadlines is also key in this role.

You must have good interpersonal and communication skills, with the
self- confidence to engage community members at senior management
level. Based on the continually changing nature of communities and
the possibility of involvement in new customer communities, you must
be flexible and adaptable.

You will also be responsible for updating content on the community
website and the newswires. DreamWeaver skills are therefore
important. Finally, the role involves plenty of organizing and
coordinating skills.

An ideal candidate will have:
· Preferably 2 years of community management or business editorial
experience
· An ability to deal with senior decision makers in large
organisations
· Well developed web skills (DreamWeaver) with the ability to upload
and change content on community sites
· An interest in, and knowledge of, the Internet, digital business
(ebusiness) and new media technology in general
· The ability to analyse community activities (i.e. tracking online
usage, determine if a corporate hasn't attended events, updating and
keeping database accurate)
· A degree
---------------------------------------------------------------
This may become a full-time role for the right person.
