Events Calendar Win2000 SQLServerposted on 27/10/2003A charity needs an events calendar for their intranet. Similar in some ways to the Palm calandar, but handling multiple users. Currently using Outlook and Exchange but unhappy with it. Would certainly consider an off-the-shelf solution, in which case you should quote to re-brand it and install it Server is Win2000 with .NET framework & SQLServer. Good sys admin support is available We will provide HTML templates though we are happy to amend the design a little to fit into an existing solution. FULL SPEC: - The home page would show the current week for all users by default. There will be a dropdown menu at the top of the page that lists all users. When a user is selected the page will show that user’s information only.· Staff will update their own calendars via an administration page · No password protection required for admin page Ability to add/edit/delete events via admin page The administrator will be the only user who can add new users. Once the users have been added anyone can update their calendar entries. User options: · Ability to select member of staff (from a dropdown) they wish to view calendar details of. · Ability to select current week, and from weeks in next three months (via a dropdown). The drop down will be probably be entitled ‘Week commencing’ and so the date for the Monday of each week for the next three months will need to be displayed. The system should allow the viewing of any week in the past or future, within reason (say 10 years). The default view will be for the current week for all users. There will be a year/month/week selection at the top of the page to facilitate the ability to ‘jump’ to a desired week. Once selected the system will hold that selection until the browser window is closed, irrespective of which user or view they select. Only weeks can be viewed within the proposed system, i.e. there will be no facility to view more than a 7 day calendar week. · When the user selects a particular week, they will see the following data: week (in form of ’26 May – 01 June 03’), name (in select box), ‘add new entry’ link, and year/month/day selection boxes at the top of the screen. In the times/data area they will see Day of week in words and number, then under each day a list in the form of Username: Time : Event Time: Event …etc. If the user is in 'all users view' the next user data will be shown straight underneath in the same format in that day cell. · specific times or time ranges specified when the entry is added. So, for example, the day box will read 09:00 Gemma – meet Tony 09:00 Carol – read report 10:00 Gemma – call Bill Should be able to handle 500-1000 users We are no longer accepting applications for this project. |
