Visual Door Builder CDRom Sales Toolposted on 5/5/2004The CDRom will be based on a Presentation Format showing the ranges and styles of doors supplied by the manufacturer. Each Range has specific Glass Insert/Handle/Letterbox/Knocker options which will be feed by a database. This will ensure that the sales person can only select suitable combinations based on the style of the door. In order to help customers select doors, a graphical display will show all doors followed in stages by the relevant accessories that are available for that particular door panel. This will build a visual door profile in front of the customer so they can see exactly how each element would look. The system will allow for ease of 'mix & match' of available options. The CDRom should contain the 'base' data and variables within a database and manufacturer supplied costs would be set prior to supplying the sales people with the CDRom to load onto their laptop. On receipt of the CDRom, each sales person will load the CD onto there laptop and set a percentage mark-up for each category of parts. e.g. Door Panel +40%, Handles +25%, letterboxes +30%, knockers +20%. This will then be set and would be available for display in front of the customer, if required. A user name and password would be requested from the sales person on installation of the CDRom, as this will keep his pricing information secure. This function should be available only through the sales person inputting a pre-determined user name and password, for secure pricing reasons. It may be that the sales person does not wish to disclose prices in front of the customer but would wish to access later to print and send quotation or email to the customer when an internet connection is available. On completion of a demonstration to the customer and agreement of all accessories, the customers details would be added and the data saved. As above, the sales person can then agree to supply quotation which has been based on the selections made by the customer. Once an order is completed the order will then be set-up to email Head Office once an Internet Connection is available or could be printed and faxed. Updates to the range and pricing options can be sent via the Internet or Email. A master copy of the programme will be supplied to the manufacturer to allow them to add their pricing. The data will then be saved as a master copy. From this master, a quantity of copies will be produced (unknown at present) by writing data to manufacturer branded blank CDR's. We are no longer accepting applications for this project. |
