music website webmaster needed!
posted on 18/8/2004small independent music website needs a keen webmaster to work flexibly, part time and remotely.
we currently have 1 server for html/images etc
1 sql server for database sections using ASP.
shared space on one audio server for hosting rm and mp3 files.
all connected through the front end of the site.
we are looking for someone to manage the current setup or move to their own server and manage.
site is currently updated manually so need help with weekly updates and maintenance and help migrating and developing a basic content management system.
looking for someone to manage current setup or advise on how to move to new environment. as long as cost remains pretty much the same as current outgoings. it will be your job, so you decide what is best to do.
a little work at first to get things setup, but eventually will be approx 1 day or couple of evenings a week. working from own home or office.
you will be responsible for:
daily upkeep of the site, problem solving, bug fixing, managing and allowing editors to add content from any remote location. dealing with outside suppliers hosts etc.
you will ideally be:
all round webmaster and experienced in managing websites.
willing to advise on new technologies and practices.
have experience with web technologies working with other.
flexible and open to ideas and opinions.
keen to be innovative and creative in solving problems.

the site is a cutting edge music and music culture website catering for underground music from the past and future. soul, jazz, funk, underground hip hop, house, nu jazz and other ecletic music styles. so if this makes sense to you it will help as ideally someone with passions for our mission would be a good candidate. although no prejudices at all, overall we are looking for someone that understands our needs and where we are looking to go.
