Written testimonial:
Ricky has designed three book covers for me. He has a great eye for what a client needs, even with only a few sketchy details given to him. His service is always friendly, professional and efficient, and a good price too. I have no hesitation in recommending Ricky to anybody that needs any design work carried out.

Logo, Brand Identity and Website Design/Development for On-Point Productions, a video production company in Leicester, Leicestershire. The client was really happy with the composition and brand identity, he also stated that the video portfolio that links to Tumblr is easy to update and control and was a really nice touch to the overall design and very important as his core business is the production of video so clients can see exactly what he does directly through the site.

High-Grade Clothing

http://www.switchstudio.co.uk/high-grade-clothing/

Logo, Brand Identity and On-line Shop Design/Development for High-Grade Clothing, a school-wear and work-wear company based in Leicester, Leicestershire. The design was completed using WordPress and some HTML & CSS in the background to tweak colours, style and layout. I also incorporated Woocommerce so that the client can upload their own product details, images and pricing. After some deliberation and discussion it was clear the client wanted to be known for British made, quality clothing where nothing is imported from another country so the inclusion of the Union Jack flag was a great tool to highlight this fact. The colours of the flag also fit in well with the rest of the brand style. The clients also requested me to create the name for the company, between the three of us we went through lots of names before finally deciding on High-Grade Clothing. The client wanted the name to also reflect the quality and durability of the materials that are used in the production of the clothing so ‘High-Grade’ was perfect as it is also a phrase used when describing quality or well made products that are hard wearing. The client loved the final design and are now working on distribution efforts to cope with the demand of their orders.

Logo, brand identity and A4 tri-fold leaflet design for Paws ‘n’ more based in Leicester, Leicestershire. The client requested the brand identity to be wacky and original, after some deliberation with different logo ideas and colours, I came up with these two loveable creatures to represent my clients pet store delivery service.

WindowsOn Charity Event

http://www.switchstudio.co.uk/windowson/

This is a painting I created on a large board for a silent auction as part of WindowsOn 2013 charity event in September 2013, the painting was donated as part of the event and all funds raised went to Leicester MS Therapy Centre. (Multiple Sclerosis) The images below show my process of adding acrylic paint to the board in stages, building up to the final image which I planned first in Illustrator to give me a guide before starting. I used hand-cut stencils and brushes and finished with two layers of varnish. The varnish was needed as the board is to sit in a window in the courtyard of Sumo, Leicester until it is auctioned off next year, the idea is that it is exhibited for the year giving people a chance to view it before bidding in the final silent auction. I was really happy with the results and can’t wait for the next WindowsOn event next year when I will be donating another painting for auction in 2015. This was a great event and for a great cause too, very well organised with live bands and a chinese dragon!
