Be careful of BT ASDL there are quite a lot of 'features' with it.

For example NO FTP at all!!!!

Which is not very useful for a web developer!!!

If you live in a cable TV area then Cable Modem is an option. Always on and
just as fast. Plus no 'features' like BT's ASDL.
