Paul,
This is because you have the "Disable script debugging" unchecked in the
Tools/Internet Options - Advanced tab. If you check bottom left of the
screen you will see "Error on Page"

You mean you got them to go somewhere? I thought they were
just linked
to 'self'...?
The link address in the info bar at the bottom just said
"tocugb.html#"
which is the name of the page they're on.
