Why are we here?
date posted 19th October 2000 16:50
Each to their own. I get useful help, the feelgood factor of community
spirit (and of being able to help sometimes) and some bloody good laughs.
I've never persisted with any other forum for more than a few weeks but I
would miss the Freelancers, even the tedious ones - we've all got a delete
button for mssges we can't be bothered with.
BTW I came across this today http://www.waitallday.com/ and thought those of
us equiped with the sense of humour plug-in might enjoy.....
Cheers, Paul.

Quite agree, isn't most people on this list here to find help, why else
would anyone be here?

Actually, no. Not help with technical/content issues anyway as that is after
all what we are professionals/freelancers for and I'm not sure that if you
can't hack the job before arriving here you should hire yourself out.
But discussion of business issues / mutual support (congrats Bob & partner
on the sprog!) / reviews and comments on new products or rants about clients
THAT is what I for one am looking for on here. One of the downsides of
freelancing is a certain level of isolation. e-mail lists go some way
towards reducing that feeling.
