>YES you are the GUY, marty mcfly :)<
Wollocks please :o)

>glad to know not everybody has a kneejerk problem!<
My knees wouldn't take it these days after years of abuse on the footy and
rugger pitches and powerlifting platforms. It's all I can do to pop up on me
longboard now.:o)

>although i have to slap you for a poor analogy (spelling?? an allergy?)
No you were right first time.

you said>>Modern race cars for example are not that much faster than those
of
50 or more years ago.Well i get your point but that's a bad example, because modern race cars
have to be CRIPPLED by the regulations to make them safe to drive on 50 year
old tracks.<
Au contraire, I think it was a good example. The Auto Unions and Merc's that
raced at Donington in 37 & 38 (I was born in 61 btw ) were clocked at
around 200mph on the back straight whereas the modern F1 car wouldn't be
able to get much faster than say an Indy car set up for a super speedway and
topping out at 240-250mph on the straights. Indeed, what would be the point
as surely the physics and physical demands would dictate otherwise? (If the
sponsors and fans don't beforehand :o)

>Thats a P L A Y S T A T I O N game, granddad (!)<
What's Play Station ;o) ? Oh yeah, it's another form of virtual
entertainment designed to part folks from their cash and provide some kind
of substitute for the 'real' thing. Shoot em up's excepted of course!

> and here's another interesting thought - ....because we like the feeling
of watching a human touching real grooves and mixing up real records in real
live time, even if he didn't write most of the songs. At least he's doing
something with the physical object and his fingertips (...!) not a computer
and some buttons.<

......... or actually playing the instruments and singing live perhaps ;o)

>So what a contradiction I am.<
You and the rest of us. Vive la diference ?
