I cannot get through the staggering 92 messages about the written word until tonight but what are we debating here, the transfer of information from machine to mind.
Words work hand in glove with images and each is as vital as the other. What is more important is the image of the words on the page to encourage reading. People only read short sentences, fact. Long lines of information, badly punctuated, spelt or written creates too many hurdles to the logical format of the brain. So, designers, value the word as an omage as much as any graphic!
