If it's a small client you could always try offering them the
http://www.securehosting.com Lite package. rent space on a secure server but
process orders off line, (the client gets an email notification when an
order is placed and logs onto their password protected section of the server
to pick up the details). as they can use their standard 'cardholder not
present' merchant account it appears to be a good 'budget' service for the
little 'uns who want to get their feet wet without the outlay (£85 per annum
+ one off £35 set up fee, no surchage/limits/percentage cut).

haven't tried it myself yet but I'm thinking of using it within the next
couple of weeks (waiting for the go ahead). just plug in any JavaScript
shopping cat and away you go.
