RE: FN-FORUM Difficult clients

Beware or arseholes.
You could always try to cover yourself a bit by asking for references from
previous suppliers of his. If necessary say you will give the current
client a copy of the questions you will ask (such as: were you paid on time,
have you any reason to believe that the client is not financially viable,
etc.). Or ask if you could informally call a couple of previous clients.
At the end of the day, if they are a real pain (rather than slightly
awkward) avoid them.

You have my sympathies, Jo.
I have had dealings with (am still having dealings with one)
a couple of 'friends' in an effort to build up a portfolio.
The most recent one is a director in his own company and was
sacked from the job we were designing for.
He has since lied to us that it was because of an amateurish
site, but he was very pleased with it at the time and so, we
understood, were the clients. He's now waiting to see if he
will get paid and will then decide whether to pay us or let
us take him to court over it.
C'est la vie
My advice? Stay away from tossers!
