Chas has a very good point here, I've been hanging around this forum for a
while now, dipping my toes in the water occasionally. A few days ago I
posted a shameless plug in response to a related thread and actually
received a lot of positive replies/comments. As long as what you are posting
is in keeping with the general spirit of the group you are posting to and
preferably in response to a related thread then people will take it in the
manner intended. But if you are obviously posting solely for your own
benefit/gain and have never contributed to the group before then people are
going to get annoyed.
Cheers,
Alex.
