I got his e-mail a few times but ignored them, judging by the website of =
theirs (no name mentioned in case :) they look dodgy as hell.
If they had any money they would have got a decent designer to build =
their site so I wouldn't worry, I think his aunties or something did it.
Nobody can sue me for that now can they :-)

Subject: FN-FORUM legal matter - please help
I have a legal matter that I wouldbe glad if you could help me with.
My website is a database of artists and designers, a third party =
individual sent unsolicited mail to a large number of people on the =
site, asking whether they were interested in working on pornographic =
titles, for no money upfront but a 10 percent cut on potential =
memberships. I like most people ignored it, but I came across an article =
on another site claimimg this was a scam ( which I suppose to any normal =
person - it does sound like a scam )
I responded by mailing around 40 members from the site saying I heard =
it was probably a con, but stressed not to take my word for it.
Somehow he has got hold of this mail and has demanded an apology - I =
did so to all the members of the site, but made it clear why I had done =
so to maintain the integrity of the site ( and also I workwith some of =
the artists ) and I did not want third party spam mails to reflect badly =
on me
He has got hold of all the mail relating to this subject and says that =
I have not apologised and have only continued to imply that his company =
and proposistions are dodgy. He claims to have got his solicitors =
involved and he is taking steps to close my site down.
Where do I stand. I have never made any personal attack on his =
company, I have only passed on information that I thought was pretty =
convincing and was trying to act on behalf of my members. It is true to =
say that I was a little cheeky in calling him a pornographer in =
subsequent mails, but that is only after he had frankly been harrasing =
me to make further apologies.
Does it make a difference that he initiated the whole process by =
sending unsolicited mails?
I know that the whole legal aspect is probably rubbish - but I am only =
recently venturing into the employed world and starting off in =
multimedia and such, and am concerned taht I can be held personably =
responsible
jd
please contact me on [EMAIL REMOVED] and I will be happy to =
supply copies of the mails in question if neccesary
