Re: FN-FORUM strange happenings on puter

Help files are fairly easy to do as long as you don't need to do
anything too clever. An understanding of rtf helps if you're doing
Winhelp, HTML help is more obvious. You can either buy a tool like
Robohelp or use the free MS help tools and Word.
The other problem sounds like the usual manufacturers deficient install
program/drivers. If it's USB, you have to put the driver on first
(AFAIK) rather than waiting for PnP to request it. If it's an HP
Scanjet, you have to remove all traces of any previous version before
installing a new one. Something's complaining about the wrong version of
a dll which does not have a particular routine that it wants to run.
Uninstall, check for any traces of files left in appropriate folder,
delete them, reboot, reinstall and try again. If necessary, extract
reg32.dll from OS cd or repair installation.

Subject: FN-FORUM strange happenings on puter
After failed loading of scanner on new desktop the following message
appeared:
reg32.dll
missing entry:update button support
HELP what do I do?
Also, for a new job spec I have to write a help file on a quality
management programme eg ISO 9000. Can anyone give me any details on this
programme and a guess on how huge this help file would have to be!
Needless to say I have not ever written a help file before. I am sure it
can't be that hard!!
Any info, hep advice accepted!
