I think that we have to look at the fact that;

A) PCs out sell Macs at least 20-50 : 1
B) Microsoft bought a large part of Apple to fend off Anti-monopoly
claims
C) Microsoft funds a lot of Apple development for the above reason

When you take that in to consideration I think that the request you
posted earlier;

Presumably you think that pc designers
shouldn't waste time adapting designs to
render correctly on a Mac.

Should actually be the other way. Macs should change their default gamma
settings and on-screen font sizing to match the PC/Sun
Solaris/Linux/HPUX/AIX/BSD/etc. i.e. the rest of the world.

I'm afraid that it has to be said that the Mac was/is/will always be the
Betamax of computers.
