RE: FN-FORUM Tip of the day...

Don't know about that, certainly get plenty of Mossies in Cardiff at least
have done in previous years it's the rain it forms pools in the junk in the
garden and the mossies breed (perhaps it has something to do with global
warming), then they come in and attack you at night. It got so bad last year
I was thinking of putting up a mosquito net because bits of my face kept
swelling up, (Unfortunately my Landlord has this thing about saving water in
old oil drums in the garden, though the water meter does total up about £800
a year)
I don't suppose there is a particular worry about Malaria form British
mossies but having some insect numbing your skin before sticking a prebosus
in and sucking ones blood isn't very healthy you never know where it's been,
(it's not surprising there was a foot and mouth epidemic). Anyway I soon
discovered that Mossies are a bit slow and are easily killed with a rolled
up newspaper and last year this became a nightly ritual for me.
Of course here in Wales the rainy season has only just began so it might get
just as bad as last year. Though thankfully most UK insects are
comparatively innocuous like I haven't seen a funnel spider yet and frankly
wouldn't want to. eek!
