It's interesting that most graphics apps on PCs such as Photoshop and
Illustrator come with gamma correction which can be set to a Mac standard if
one so wishes, and you can of course save TIFFs in PC or MAC byte order (not
that it ever seems to make any difference), and of course even old rarely
used obsolete formats like PICT.
Of course one could argue you can only "think different" if you have a
choice. If Macs don't offer such versatility (which I dare say can't be
true, surely?) there obviously wouldn't be much scope for thinking different
there.
I think if a Design Studio or Print shop is using Macs it's up to them to
make sure they are compatible with what most of their clients using, not the
other way round. After all they are offering a service and it's not meant to
be some kind of stuffy gentlemen's club of Mac aficionados all posing about
in leather sports Jackets with long Cuban cigars (it's just so eighties) ;-)
