Photoshop 6 / Illustrator 9 save to web function

date posted 10th July 2001 12:33

I'm running Win ME, and every time I got to do save for web using photoshop
or illustrator, the file optimization screen pops OK.

However if I try and change any colour / compression options / click OK and
then SAVE, the screen takes ages to redraw. Each element of the screen has
to change / disappear (if saving) 1 by 1 taking around 2 seconds for each
one. You can imagine how annoying this is.

Changing compression options in Image Ready is lightning quick. However I
work mostly in photoshop.

This never happened with win 98, a friend of mine with exactly the same
system (same model laptop and win ME) doesn't have this problem. I have
rebuilt my system 3 times, and I still get this. I have 256mb ram so that
isn't the reason.

Does anyone know how to stop this from happening?

Or failing that how I can throw the damn thing out of the window without
invalidating the warranty?

(fyi I am running ATM 4.1 as well, although it was happening before I
installed it)
