It's not Virtual Internet, is it? They've been down for around 60 hours
over the past six months - disgraceful.

I'm using the free uptime service from arsdigita:

http://uptime.arsdigita.com/uptime/

This sends an email if your server is unreachable. I have the email going
to my orange.net address which means it's also bounced to my mobile as a
text message.
