Hi Paul,
We're redoing the demos to make them smaller, so I'm hoping the download
time won't be so much of an issue.
There's no bloody way I'm doing that lot in Flash, I'd be here until next
year! I decided that the dynamic nature of the viewlets is easier to
understand than loads of boring to read instructions.
I don't think people will want to watch all of them, but they're there if
people get stuck. I agree that the file size is a nuisance - typically about
500k - but it seems like the best route for really detailed 'how to's'.
As for a general overview animation, you can find one on
http://www.iblurbs.com/whatareiblurbs.cfm , but we're currently re-writing
that page as well.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm really keen to hear feedback about usability or
lack thereof, because the end users may well be non-technical and it's a
difficult concept to get your head around.
I'm pretty disappointed to hear that IE6 doesn't work with the demos. Maybe
I should check to see whether Qarbon have written an IE6 friendly version of
the viewlet builder.
Cheers again,
ruth arnold
