RE: FN-FORUM Why Hand Code Anyway?

date posted 18th July 2001 15:49

With hand coding you get CLEAN!!!!! code - no extra crap that say FP
puts in it.
I've always wonder what is clean code and what's the crap that is added?

If you set it up your pages ready for FP server extensions and all the
WEBBOT stuff, then I suppose you do get extra stuff added, but all the pages
I build in FP aren't set up with the FP extensions, (use to use them with NT
servers, but I now have all my sites hosted on UNIX servers without the
extensions, they were more trouble than they're worth),
In a world that needs everything yesterday, using a WYSIWYG editor really
makes the whole operation much quicker. Even speeding things up doesn't get
the work done any faster though and I know if I hand coded, then a deadline
is a word that would not be in my vocabulary.

I hand code - I'm very proud of the fact that I can
hand code. With hand coding you get CLEAN!!!!! code -
no extra crap that say FP puts in it.

Call me a freak but I prefer to hand code - I learn to
design pages using DOS editor years ago and I like it,
nay I LOVE HAND CODING.
