ummm ... no. I've been hand-coding since 94 (currently use UltraEdit on win
and various editors on Linux) but the tags were/are because
older browsers would not accept tags and mis-represent them or
ignore them altogether. Just as I too design with speech readers in mind
(ALT tags) I'm also aware of the range of browsers out there. Safety first!
(and no, wasn't taught it at college - no web then, just Arpanet!)
Personally, I'm sticking with upper for HTML and DHTML and lowercase for
XML.
