RE: FN-FORUM Urgent Request - Tosh Equium 6230D

As far as I can tell from the Toshiba web site, the CD-ROM drive is a
standard ATAPI CD-ROM drive so any standard CD-ROM driver ought to work.
Assuming you havent yet formatted the hard drive, try searching for
toscdrom.sys - this is toshiba's cd driver
If you can find it, format a floppy on an existing win 95 pc and copy
mscdex.exe from that pc to the floppy
Edit autoexec.bat on the floppy and put in a line which says:
a:mscdex.exe /d:toscd001 /m:10
Edit config.sys on the floppy and put in a line which says:
Device=a: oscdrom.sys d:toscd001
Assuming you can find toscdrom.sys. If you use a different atapi driver
then replace toscdrom.sys in the config.sys line with the name of your
driver.
Hope this helps.
If you need further assistance, drop me a line off list if you want.

Subject: FN-FORUM Urgent Request - Tosh Equium 6230D
Folks,
Sorry for the Subject heading, but I am desperate right now.
Just obtained a "surplus to requirements" Toshiba Equium 6230D from
work, which had NT installed on it - not much good for my girlies to
play games on :-( I tried to create a 95 boot disc with the CD
accessible, but the CD says "nah, not playing". Tried Tosh's site, but
no joy on there for a bootable floppy that includes the CD drive. It is
a bog standard-no additions PC
Can anyone create or get hold of a floppy that will do this for me?
could you send it offlist (zipped or not) to me at
[EMAIL REMOVED]
Many thanks if you can - just started the summer holidays & already
getting the hanging rope ready ;-)
Martin
