No slow down here either, although there is a delay on Netscape 6 if you
move the mouse over the links before the page has finished downloading,
but otherwise its instant. Perhaps that is what they are experiencing?

Also, have you checked whether he is using a recent version of the
browser/flash plugin?

I found that with IE 4 anything that had any degree of transparency
slowed the browser to a crawl (not tried in flash, but fairly generic in
html and java using IE 4). Not sure if flash relies on the browser to
perform the drawing operations (although I'd think it would have to),
but probably worth checking..
