if you are wanting to get your data off the ntfs drive then you are a little
stuck.. there are "some" dos/linux boot disks that are about on the net that
let you have access. However the best way would be to..
perhaps get a copy of partition magic..
create a new fat 32 partition.
copy data accross
then convert the ntfs partition if possible (not sure if you can) or just
delete the partiton and re create it with fat 32.

Subject: FN-FORUM OS troubles . Cant revert back to winows 98 after
installing windows 2k pro
Help !
I have installed win2k pro on a spare / oldish Gateway 2500 laptop and now
found that most of the drivers etc are not upgradeable !
I am now wanting to uninstall win2k , and reinstall win98.
The problem seems to be that the file system is now not FAT/FAT 32 , it is
now NTFS as a result of the foolish choice to upgrade !
The M$ site tells me that options for reverting to 98 are ''limited'' as the
98 OS does not read or recognise NTFS !
It does say that they do not support 3rd party software to convert NTFS to
FAT or FAT 32 which means someone must have a fix !
Anyone got any ideas ?
Any advice gratefully received
Thanks
Steve
Why did I bother in the first place ........ aggghh
