Re: FN-FORUM Thinking of buying a mac

Ok, it's probably more to do with what you are used to more than anything
but I still find Macs far more intuitive to use than PCs. The other day I
was trying to find out what IP my PC uses (when setting up the Mac
emulator), My system admin guy tried to guess and verify using the command
line prompt, failing that he then had to click through about 2 dialogue
boxes to find out, properties of one, advanced settings for another. There
was a clash of IPs so the machines IP had to be changed and restarted
(win2K)...?
I just don't understand as on a Mac (upto OS 9.X) you open the TCP/IP
control panel, there is your IP and you want to change it just change it no
restarting. But then how do you check its functioning?... Well there's no
command line to allow pinging.
So what I'm trying to say is each system has its good points and its bad
points, but it depends if you want something light and fluffy but no less
serious or something grey and overtly serious.
