Andrew,
Is still in discussion, I will try and get it as high as possible, but
it is not going to be great - the indication I have is that they can get
cards designed at £200 a shot by professional card designers who would give
up copyright and not get a commission. What they are looking at is
minimising the up front cost but rewarding any designs that are successful.
Initial site is going to be looking at about 175 cards - at £200 each would
be quite an up front risk.
I only got an indication that they would not be supplying all the cards
themselves today and the discussions were a brief addenda to the meeting to
discuss site development. As I said in my first mail - I was looking to get
an indication of whether anyone was interested.
All the best
Ian

Subject: FN-FORUM Greetings Cards
This is just a feeler - is anyone interested in designing some greetings
cards for a web site (and potentially for further publication and
distribution) there would be a small fee for any card accepted by the client
+ an ongoing commission on any sales of the order of £0.10 /card.
We are currently in discussion about details of the contract, so the fee
and commission are under discussion.
If you want to have a look at the web site it is at
www.card-direct.co.uk - still under development (has dummy cards in place)
Anniversary Card 3 is being used for development of a personalisation
service (note fonts and colours are just for demonstration)
Any comment and feedback would be appreciated.
The client is looking for humour and new directions for the cards. If
you are interested let me know and an idea of the level of the initial fee
that you would be willing to accept.
All the best
