RE: FN-FORUM Really cheap hosting
date posted 6th January 2002 20:09
We've bought a reseller account from www.hotchilli.co.uk and would
highly recommend it.
They offer 1Gb of NT or Unix space with 100 pops with reseller consoles
and GREAT tech support for about £400 (NT) or £300 (UNIX) per year. If
you consider that you could sell this space onto other clients as well
and onlt have to sort mapping it does work out quite cheap. We've
currently got 35 clients shared between our two spaces!

Chris
As I mentioned I was going off my clients experience
of Portlands service which was very good and friendly apparently.
From your account it seems, as is usually the case, you get
what you pay for. It's early days with my clients hosting on
Portland. I hope things don't take a turn for the worse as you
suggest. As for domain name registration how can they believe
they will get away with charging £36. I never looked beyond the
frontpage of the site myself. just passed on a recommendation
from this forum. Oh well at least now I can prepare myself
for a phonecall :-)
> I also had loads of problems getting a domain transferred,
I had a similar problem a couple of years ago with another
hosting company. I simply stopped calling them and went
straight to Nominet who had my domain name moved within
a few days. I even got a courtesy call when everything was
fixed. Very helpful.
