RE: FN-FORUM High speed, reliable Internet connection

date posted 7th January 2002 15:41

Hi Peter,
I was about to mention tele2 as well.
I was on their test scheme several years ago when they first rolled it out
in Reading, they were then offering a wireless mast on your roof and I
believe it was 128k up and downstream. They have since increased the band
width. They also offer a fixed IP and I can't wait for them to cover
Bournemouth so I can reactivate my profile with them! They provided a great
service with certainly when I used them very little outage.

Hi Alex,

I'm intrigued by the tele2 service. It is wireless instead of the
conventional land line connection, with choosable upstream/downstreams.

How does this wirless service compare with wire delivered services? Are
there any disadvantages? Does sharing bandwidth come into this at all?

On the face of it, this seems to be a very good option for my requiremnts
