RE: FN-FORUM designing the hard way
date posted 7th January 2002 15:52
The situation is tough at the moment. I am not really a designer but more of
a coder and things aren't great for us either, have been freelancing for 18
months now and beginning to get to the stage where people are coming back to
me for quotes for new work.
All the best
Ian

Subject: FN-FORUM designing the hard way
What is the feeling of other designers on the job situation at the moment. I
was one of the poor unfortunates who was made redundant last year from my
agency and have since been freelancing but to be honest it has been hard....
I dont really want to go and do viral email campaigns and cant afford big
costly print runs for brochures...so my work is via word of mouth and it
just
gets me down as a designer that our industry is so up the wall and that I
might have to leave the profession which i adore so much....
any views from other designers who have been forced into a situation where
there isnt enough work to sustain them?
Cheers for listening and in the words of Stan Lee, 'Nuff Said'
