Well, I can see what you are saying but the usage versus System
compromisation speaks for itself.
IIS is used by approx 30 % of all webservers globally, where as Apache
accounts for about 50%.
95% off all attacks are on IIS/Windows boxes.
The thing with open source is that there is a lot more peer group checking
and looking out for the whole by the good guys who can then do something
about it. However with a closed system you are playing catchup and are
reliant on the proprietry employers closing all the holes as well as
foressing what the bad guys are doing.
Also for me, it is easier to understand something that you can *see inside*
rather than only seeing what you are allowed to see.

I just feel that the whole MS security holes thing is just an attack on the
biggest target - it's no fun attacking open source because you can't see
anyone squirm. Attackers' egos want to see a result from their attack and
the big companies are the ones that will get media coverage if they're
attacked.
