RE: FN-FORUM Windows 2000 or Windows XP

If the machine came bundled with XP then it's highly unlikely to have
any driver issues, so I say stick with it. It's all the same basic NT
core and if the interface bothers you, just switch to the 'classic'
display mode Control Panel>Display Properties>Appearance>Windows&Buttons
and lose the fat new start menu by right-clicking on the Start button
Properties>Classic Start Menu. I run 2K on my main machine because I
have a couple of good Ghost images that I can't be bothered to rebuild,
but it's on my other machine and I haven't had a single problem with it.
To sum up - give it a punt, you can always drop back to 2K at a later
date if you don't get on with it,
Hutch

Subject: FN-FORUM Windows 2000 or Windows XP
Hi All
Just purchased a brand new machine today which comes bundled with
Windows
XP. I've been using windows 2000 for ages.
Decision : Do I use XP, format and put on Windows 2000 or do I
multiboot?
What are the pros and cons of XP, better to stick with 2000?
Dave.
