Subject: FN-FORUM Site cleanup hell...
Hey peeps,
Charlie Owen here, once a freelancer who subscribed to this fair list, now a
9-5 permanent drone. I know I don't really belong here anymore, but you guys
are just so friendly and lovely... :-P
I'm now the web editor for a horribly large sprawling static site (20,000+
files) that has never been tidied up and has never had redundant files
removed in all of it's history.
We're now in the process of having a content management system installed, so
we need to remove all redundant files, ready for the site's migration to
XML. So I was wondering if anybody knew of any tools that will scan a local
version of a site, and list any files that are not linked to by any other
files on the site, i.e. everything that is redundant.
Any suggestions?
charlie.
