help choosing an accountantHelloooo, and welcome, from a fellow =
new(ish)comer!
While I can't help you much with t'other matters, I can recommend a =
brilliant accountant. He himself was recommended to me by someone living =
in your neck of the woods, and I've just had my first year's accounts =
from him - saved me a pretty penny or two, as well.
His name is Keith Hall, and although based in Brighton, has lots of =
clients in London and so regularly commutes here. He charges from =A3250 =
to =A3500 + VAT, depending on the state of your records (!) and the =
overall time he spends on your accounts. You can contact him on (tel) =
01273 321956, (fax) 01273 329246 or [EMAIL REMOVED]
Good luck,=20
Tracey :-)

Subject: FN-FORUM help choosing an accountant
Hi,
I've just joined the list and am getting ready to set up a limited =
company but am hoping to get some referrals for a great accountant. I =
live in northwest London and would prefer someone somewhat local but am =
open to any suggestions.
While I'm here, I'm just curious as to the difference between a sole =
trader and a limited company. Anyone have a preference? Pluses & =
minuses of each?
Now, a little about myself...
Most recently I was the exec. producer and web development manager at =
looksmart.co.uk but left because I was putting in about 80 hours a week =
and decided I'd rather do that sort of time and actually get paid for =
it. Before that I was freelancing in San Francisco as a web =
designer/developer, desktop publisher, photoshop/illustrator maven, =
project/production manager for web and print, basically whatever came =
through the door. I've been in the graphics industry for over 12 years =
and have about 5 years experience in new media. I haven't freelanced in =
the UK and am trying to get my head around how it all works here. I'm =
looking for pretty much any type of job I listed above and am open to =
any offers or suggestions on getting work, setting rates, etc.
thanks in advance,
isabel=20
