Re: FN-FORUM 2 Urgent Requirements Elance

date posted 22nd January 2002 23:57

Does any one out there have experience of using Freelance?

What I want to know is, for the amount of work do you think their services
are a good investment?

Generally how much business success do you generate a month?

why does the project look like its been cut and pasted off elance.com, i was
thinking about the flash one, but the thought of elance and the amount of
work for £200 - well, it was all too much :-)

It depends on your definition of 'decent', but most projects I handle have a
budget of between £3k - £15k, typical turnaround time is 3-6 weeks of design
/ development time.

It should be said however, that I always 'split' a project, so development
aspects are given to a competent developer, whilst design aspects are given
to a competent designer.

I simply act as project manager for the projects & consultant to the client.

give us examples of work you've subcontracted in the past with 'decent'
budgets?

Subject: FN-FORUM 2 Urgent Requirements

*** Project One ***

ANIMATION OF
Full Presentation (e.g. slide show, product demo)

FEATURES TO INCLUDE
Text/copy
Music
Logo

BUYER PROVIDES
Text/copy
Storyboard or sketches
Music
Logo

PROVIDER TO CREATE ORIGINAL ARTWORK
Yes, with the support of clip art/images

DELIVERY FORMAT
exe file - projector file for CD's/Kiosks
.fla file

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I require a flash presentation that will be put onto a CD Business Card.

This will involve the following;

* Brief intro (30 seconds) with animated logo
* approx 4 sections of text information - presented to the user as a
'slideshow' initially (forcing the user to read through it) - this must be
presented in a graphically attractive manner.
* Once the user has viewed each section, they should be presented with a
menu allowing them to view each section individually.
* A printable application form should also be included (user fills out
information on screen then sends to printer)

To give you an example of my 'style' preference, see figleaf.com

Unfortunately my budget for this project is small - only £200, however I
subcontract all work so if you are able to impress enough more will follow
(with decent budgets)

*** Project Two ***

A little bit of photoshop work & html template. This job is almost
complete, but needs a little refinement & some colour variations. Only 1
page needs doing. Final files to be delivered in original (layered) psd's &
html files. I will send across the psd's for the current artwork. Budget
for this is only £100, although it should only take around 3-6 hours.

****

Please email me offlist if you are interested in either project. Also
please point me to relevant samples of your work. The first person that
comes 'up to scratch' gets the job.
