Some programs are written so that they do nasty things to the computer.
Generally, business operating systems like Win2k and NT try to prevent this
from happening , so some programs don't run.
You can find out what does and doesn't run by checking with the vendor or
with Microsoft. For Win2k go here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/professional/howtobuy/upgrading/compat/
default.asp
Photoshop 5 is compatible with Win2k, so is CorelDraw 9. Someone is having
you on.
I wouldn't buy an expensive piece of equipment without checking that it
worked with the rest of my stuff--video, TV, computer, car, whatever...
Software is much cheaper now than it was ten years ago and does much more.
