If you're collecting your e-mail by POP3, this is something that can
happen, especially if the mail server is overloaded. What happens is
that you download a copy of the message, but the server times out before
receiving the acknowledgement to delete the message, so your POP3 client
collects the same message again because it was never deleted.

My guess is that it's a BT server problem.
