MAC-MODEM PROBS

the reason i'm using a new cable is that i trod on the flimsy one that comes
with the iMac... thinking this was my connection problem i parted with some
cash and bought a new one only to find problems continuing. The moment i
brought it home and used the new cable it didn't work. in the modem check
box checked and earlier version of internal modem and for half an hour
surfing happily, then surprise surprise "LOOKOUT EXPRESS!!" crashed the mac
and I get modem busy or not available errors ever since! I'll try the old
one again later! cheers

Not a mac specific suggestion: Why are you using a new cable? The reason I
ask is because I've had problems with one modem where the supplied cable was
different from a normal one - I tried it with a normal one and it just
wouldn't work with that cable. I swapped it back again and it was fine.
