Sherry,
Glad you said what I was thinking and mine was purely from my own ethics...I
wouldn't be able to sleep if I hadn't at least attempted to suggest the
same.....

Yep....who hasn't been taken for a ride on something they purchased
recently?? I think we can all safely say that it has happened to us
once....if it hasn't happened to you yet, look out...it will get you yet!!
£18K commitment for a website seems quite steep when one needs to take a
second mortgage on their house to do it...in fact, I would be inclined
myself to seek the advice of a solicitor for 'get-out' clauses in such a
deal. I think solicitor fees to review the situation and a payment to the
designer/programmer for work already completed plus a percentage would still
be far cheaper than £18K. Even after all is said and done, the client ends
up paying £6K for all that....still saves herself a whole lot of dosh and it
sounds like the company really can't afford to make this kind of
capital/long-term investment at this time.
Sorry guys....I was an accountant for 12 years before abandoning that career
and stepping into this one. To allow someone to make this kind of mistake
would just keep me awake at night...
Flame me all ya want....I'm a tough Canuck...broad shoulders and all that
:-D
