So if human teleportation is out of the question, who is working on making
human facsimiles?

Imagine, by some digitising process, your "essence" could be captured. You
could then send a digital facsimile of yourself into a digital space to
interact with other facsimiles. How easy would client meetings be then?
The facsimiles could argue for days and eventually reach agreement and you'd
get a little note telling you what you'd agreed with the client.

Imagine combining "essence" from professionals with your facsimile - you
could get your values and knowledge combined with that of a super sales
person and win every contract negotiation......
