Hi As far as I am aware MIRC is freeware. I might be wrong. I have used it for a while (more than 30 days) and had no problems. http://www.mirc.com/ There are lots more Freeware IRC clients around....

600x800. they are cascading on my screen, i.e. as each new pop appears it is a little bit right and down from the last, so they can be nearly off screen, depending on the users last cascaded window....
