Help with postscript required
date posted 1st August 2002 18:37
Is there anyone out there who can advise on the following?
1) I use PageMaker 6.5, and normally supply either hard copy artwork or PM
files on disk. However, a client has asked me to supply some material as a
postscript file converted to PDF. I assume that this is because his printer
uses a Mac.
2) To produce a postscript file, am I correct that I need to install a
postscript driver on my pc. If so, which one? Will any driver do, or is
there a generic ps driver I can use? Or do I ask the client to tell me which
printer (and therefore which driver) he will be using)?
3) When I print to file, are there any special print settings required?
Does the client advise me about these as well?
4) Once the file has been produced, do I need Adobe Acrobat to do the
conversion to PDF? In the last few days, someone has told me of a program
called PDF factory, available for free from www.fineprint.com. Would this be
better than using Adobe Acrobat, or would I encounter problems?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
