Hi Shaf,
I haven't launched the service yet but Bits and Pixels will be launching a
web hosting and domain registration service (mostly because I'm fed up with
dealing with other hosts) and we'll be registering .com, .net and .org (as
well as a few others, .biz, etc.) for £8.95 / year (including VAT.)
As for web hosting, we're going to have a few set plans with a basic plan
(50mb, 1gb transfer) costing £5.75 /mo (including VAT.)
I'm working on a custom back-end script at the moment that will allow you
complete control over your domains and web hosting packages without having
to remember different usernames and passwords for all of them. When it's
done, it should be as easy (if not easier) to use than 123-reg's system
(which I love) and will include the web hosting control panel facilities as
well... which reminds me, I have to get back to it.
(Any comments, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Being a
designer/developer myself, I want this service to be
designer/developer-friendly so if there are any features that you'd like
with a web hosting provider that you haven't been able to find, please let
me know. The site will have open forums for discussion and support -- in
addition to an online 24/7 helpdesk/ticketing system and 9-5 telephone
support in the UK.)
