300Mb isn't really much memory for Autocad. I have more than that to run
Word.

Is his video card (and drivers) certified for Win2k? I've heard other people
day the same thing - suggestions were make him a local admin and try a
reinstall. I think there is at least one patch for Win2k.

Not-so-good news for those of you who want to run AutoCAD Release 14 or
earlier on Windows 2000: those who've tried it report problems caused by
16-bit code in Release 14. Windows 2000 is designed for 32-bit applications,
and those that use 16-bit need to be updated before they'll work with
Windows 2000. Alas, Autodesk "currently has no plans to test AutoCAD Release
14 running on Windows 2000 Professional." It also sounds like Autodesk plans
to fulfill requirements for Windows 2000 logo certification but won't
actually submit its products for certification testing.
