Not so, anyone who wants to over ride the website settings can do (as long
as you don't set px font sizes for IE users) but setting a default style for
non specially configured browsers is a good thing for conveying information,
as it gives much better control over the layout, and hence useability.
Martin is right, setting a default does not make it mandatory or compulsory
to use, but provides a suitable mean for the average user.
